NCCT’s 19th Annual Teen Show
The Music Man
March 2, 3 & 4 2012
For the 2012 Teen Show the Teen Governance Group and the NCCT Board of Directors have chosen the musical theater classic, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize. Hill doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef: he intends to skip town with the cash. But when he begins to fall for local librarian Marian Paroo, carrying out his plan becomes a little more difficult. Memorable numbers include “Seventy-Six Trombones” and “‘Till There Was You.” Auditions January 7th at the Lebanon Opera House. More audition information here.
NCCT’s 40th Annual Summer Show
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
July 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 2012
The NCCT Board of Directors is excited to announce that NCCT’s 40th annual summer show will be Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Often considered Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece and one of the greatest musical theater pieces ever written (voted one of the 3 greatest musicals of all time by a group of experts in New York magazine in January 2011), Sweeney is a dark comedic thriller about a disaffected barber in 1840s London, a woman who loves him, and events that lead them to kill selected Londoners and bake them into meat pies.
Reserve July 2012 for attending the tale of Sweeney Todd – in the audience or in the production itself!
